Colored Cotton Candy Sugar Recipe

How do you make sugar different colors for cotton candy?

It is actually really simple. First, you'll need a sturdy zipper seal baggie. What I mean is...don't use the cheap baggies for this or you'll end up with a hole in the baggie. Next, add two or three drops of food coloring. You can use any color you want. Mix and match the colors for different colors.

Add 1/4 cup of granulated sugar. Remove as much air from the baggie as possible and seal. Begin kneading the sugar in the baggie to distribute the color. Once the color has been distributed, it is ready to use in your cotton candy machine.

Tips for Using a Cotton Candy Machine

* Do not use Bottlers Fine sugar as it could clog the ribbons and burn.
* Courser sugars will work, but are more for commercial grade cotton candy machines.
